Eventually, Deirdre has the chance to thank Valen for his immediate leap to action during the events of the masquerade, and sent to his quarters is a
very concise letter in Deirdre's green script.

Valen,
Check the storeroom!

Indeed, there are two objects wrapped in paper waiting for him in the castle storeroom that's been designated for his family. The first is easy to indentify at first glance - a longbow. Unwrapping it would reveal it to be sturdy and crafted from rosewood, with patterns reminiscient of forests and creeping vines etched across it. In the smaller parcel is a pale hunting horn of carved ivory, with an ornate little carvings depicting leaping stags, brass rings fastening it to a leather strap.
Attached is a small note, tied to the parcel with a green ribbon.
